What kind of photographer are you?
I am primarily a lifestyle photographer, with a little bit of portraiture thrown in. I adore the candid moments and the little details as much as the smiley, look-at-the-camera images! I am constantly shooting because I see moments everywhere. Some might say I overshoot, but I'm okay with that. I aim to keep my sessions casual, simple, natural and fun. I capture life as it is. I don’t force anything; if your child wants to run and explore and not look at the camera, we will capture great memories of his/her free spirit! If your newborn doesn’t want to sleep, wonderful! We’ll capture his/her beautiful eyes instead; no props, no bean bags, no babies in baskets, no newborn posing. Life is beautiful just the way it is, and my goal is to capture your authentic story.
Where and when will my session be held?
I am a natural light, on location photographer. Lifestyle newborn sessions are done in your home, typically around 10 a.m. Fresh 48 sessions are done in the hospital or birth center within 48 hours of your baby's arrival into the world.
What if my house is dark and doesn't look Pinterest-worthy?
That is SO OKAY! Some of my favorite newborn images were shot in cluttered, dark homes. My aim isn't to capture a Pinterest-worthy image, my goal is to capture YOUR LIFE in all of its beautiful imperfection. All I need is a window :)
How long does a session last?
I don't put time constraints on my sessions. I can tell when kids (and grown-ups) have had enough and I can tell when we've captured what we set out to do, and I can tell when everyone is just happy to be shooting away until all the light is gone and it's time to go get that promised ice cream. Typically shoots last about an hour and a half, but may be longer or shorter depending on the individual session. I go with the natural flow of things!
How long will it take to get my photos?
Your images will be uploaded to an online gallery within 7 - 14 days of your session.
